On February 12, 2021, the Association of Teachers of English North Kazakhstan “ATENK” presented their experience at an online meeting with the North Kazakhstan Education Department. The online meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Education – Gulmira Karimova

ATENK shared the results of their work and their action plan for the near future. Along with the reporting part of the meeting, the president of ATENK presented some thought-provoking questions such as:

- Transparency of teacher “attestation”: adding ATENK into the decision-making expert committee.

- Equity and equality in the regional Olympiads for students: elite school students VS. mainstream school students.

- Some teachers are still being involved into irrelevant job duties.

Fortunately, the Head of the Education Department, Mrs. Karimova responded to all the concerns and expressed great support to the Association.
