2nd stage “Lesson plan reflection essay” (500-700 words)

Go to atenk.kz – Projects - Contests - Best Teacher Award - BTA 2021 and complete the google form. Describe approaches and methods you used in your lesson plan (500-700 words).

Essay requirements

The essay should cover the answers to the below given questions:

How did you plan/design the lesson? How did you motivate your students during learning? How was the lesson received by your students and how did you assess your students’ learning?

Please tell us about an experience you’ve been able to share with other teachers that has made a difference.

 

Content of an essay must be new and not previously published anywhere.

All essays will be checked for plagiarism and will be disqualified in case of 80 % non-unique.- The jury reserves the right to final selection of essays in accordance with the essay requirements.

  • Appeals are not accepted. Explanations for the selection of entry and their analysis are not provided.
  • The jury members cannot take part in the Contest.

Please read the criteria of the jury members, which they will use to assess you. This will play a big role in evaluating your lessons and your reflection.

       Share your story about being a teacher, your background, why you chose to dedicate your career to teaching and why you believe you have made an outstanding contribution to the profession.

         Tell us about any creative, unusual or otherwise extraordinary teaching practices you have introduced in your lessons that you believe has made a difference to your students’ education or even helped them overcome any particular challenges they may face.
 
 
 
3  IMPROVING THE TEACHING PROFESSION
 
          Share how you are contributing to the improvement of the teaching profession. How are you helping to raise the bar of teaching, sharing best practices with your colleagues and helping them overcome the challenges they face in your school or in their school?

Best Teacher Award – 2021 results

Best Teacher Award – 2021 resultsThe beginning of the school year started with our 2nd annual Best Teacher Award contest, aimed at recognizing and celebrating the very best English language teachers across the North Kazakhstan region.

More than 40 English teachers acrosss North Kazakstan participated in the BTA 2021:

  1. 4% rural secondary school teachers
  2. 3% - teachers of urban secondary schools
  3. 4% - teachers of lyceums, gymnasiums and NIS

To pass the Stage 1 teachers had to be successful in the test on the methodology of teaching English. Only 22 teachers were chosen to participate in the second stage according to assessment criteria. In fact, teachers from rural schools were in the lead in number.
The second stage of the contest involved writing an essay. The teachers analyzed their lessons, reflected and wrote what needs to be changed or undertaken in the future.
It was tough to deal with all great contest materials! Members of jury discussed each contestant work. So, the results are:
